Victorian Irish 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot Tunic and Cocked Hat, interesting example of the early scarlet 1855 pattern tunic with white facings which was converted from double breasted to single breasted to conform with the 1856 regulation. Bullion early pattern rank crowns to the collar (one loose) for the rank of Lieutenant, brocade braid to the collar and cuffs. Gilt metal pre-1855 coatee buttons, having Inniskilling castle within crowned strap with INNISKILLING. Correct single maroon twist cord shoulder strap. Cloth lining to the interior is well worn and tunic has some old repairs. Accompanying the tunic is a officers cocked hat of black beaver skin with gilt brocade and single button. Bullion to both ends of the cap. Interior with tan leather sweatband and crimson lining.
